The results of the trip of the ACTP RF team to Armenia within the framework of the UN Development Program were summed up

International experts of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) from the Association of Clusters, Technology parks and SEZ of Russia have completed the first stage of their work to increase the investment attractiveness of the free economic zones of the Republic of Armenia in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia.

On Friday, July 8, Director of ACTP RF Andrey Shpilenko and Head of Infrastructure Development Alexey Andreev visited «ECOS» Free Economic Zone and HyeProspect Industrial Park.

SEZ «ECOS» is very different from typical free economic zones. Its specialization is IT, blockchain, cryptocurrency mining. That is why the FEZ is located next to the power plant – this allows to provide the necessary capacities for energy-intensive projects in the field of cryptocurrencies. At the same time, almost half of the staff works remotely, not only from the cities of Armenia, but also from many countries of the world.

The next stop was the territory of the Industrial Park «HyeProspect». A large complex investment project was presented to the ACTP RF team. The project includes the creation of a free economic zone and the development of an industrial park.

«We have collected all the necessary information and now we will continue to analyze it in order to draw the right conclusions based on a comprehensive study. We will work out recommendations and an action plan to increase the investment attractiveness of the sites of the Republic of Armenia», – Andrey Shpilenko said.

The director of ACTP RF also mentioned the open position and big interest of the Government of Armenia in this joint work. «We promptly received all the necessary information, they shared with us not only achievements, but also challenges, difficulties and obstacles that today hinder economic growth and reduce investment attractiveness. This allows us to conduct a really high-quality analysis, and, therefore, to find effective ways of development», – summed up the UN international expert.

This work is carried out by the Association of Clusters, Technology parks and SEZ of Russia together with the Institute of Knowledge Economy.
