More than 10 foreign delegations will take part in the SEZ-2025 International Forum
On September 18, Nizhny Novgorod will host the III International Forum of Special Economic Zones-2025. The participation in the event was confirmed by delegations from Argentina, Pakistan, Zimbabwe, China, Nigeria, Iran, Belarus, Tajikistan, India and Uzbekistan. The central topics of the forum will be the expansion of international cooperation, the development of the regulatory framework and the search for new tools to attract investment.
Svyatoslav Sorokin, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, stressed that the future of the SEZ institute is directly linked to international cooperation. "For 20 years, preferential treatment has proved to be an effective tool for the development of the regional economy, which helps attract investment, create new jobs, increase the competitiveness of domestic producers and provides predictable and transparent rules for investors. Today, we are ready to scale this experience in working with foreign investors and strengthen the role of Russian SEZs in the global economy. The Nizhny Novgorod Forum is becoming a platform where such approaches are developed in partnership with business and the expert community," said Svyatoslav Sorokin.
According to Mikhail Labudin, Director of the Association of Clusters, Technoparks and SEZs of Russia, the international agenda of the forum is becoming more ambitious. "The International Association of SEZS of the BRICS countries, created on the initiative of the AKIT of the Russian Federation with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, forms an ecosystem for attracting investments and implementing infrastructure projects focused on sustainable development. It is important that this format makes it possible to harmonize regulatory practices and establish direct links between Russian management companies and investors from different countries. On this basis, we offer our partners specific tools, including the Single Window service, which simplifies the procedure for foreign companies to enter the Russian market in a short period of time," said Mikhail Labudin.
In turn, Andrey Sanosyan, Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, emphasized the importance of the forum for the region. "For the Nizhny Novgorod region, hosting such a large–scale international event is not only an opportunity to share experiences, but also an opportunity to attract investors' attention to our sites. We expect that discussions and meetings with foreign partners will make a serious contribution to the realization of the industrial and technological potential of the region," he said.
A separate section of the forum will be devoted to regulatory issues. Experts will discuss what barriers hinder the development of SEZs in Russia, what changes in legislation can accelerate the launch of new projects, and will also present the best international practices. During the plenary session "20 years of SEZ in Russia: international cooperation and global transformation", the participants will summarize the development of the institute, discuss the prospects for its further improvement and identify guidelines for integration into the international economic space.
