ACTP RF offered Myanmar cooperation in the field of special economic zones

One of the key events of the Intergovernmental Russian-Myanmar Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was the Russian-Myanmar Business Forum, where investment projects and prospects for trade cooperation were discussed. Special attention was paid to the development of special economic zones as a tool for attracting investments. Mikhail Labudin, Director of the Association of Clusters, Technoparks and SEZs of Russia, presented strategic initiatives to create joint industrial sites and integrate Myanmar enterprises into international cooperation chains. "The creation of modern industrial zones is not just an infrastructure project, but a strategic tool to attract investors and stimulate economic growth. We are ready to share our Russian experience, as well as offer system solutions for the development of SEZs in Myanmar, including standardization of operating mechanisms and the involvement of major market players," Mikhail Labudin said. Special attention was paid to the training of specialists in the field of SEZ management. The AKIT of the Russian Federation, together with the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, implements a methodological program that covers all aspects of the creation and functioning of special economic zones. The Russian side invited colleagues from Myanmar to participate in this program as honorary trainees in order to study the best practices of regulation and investor attraction. Participants will be able to consolidate agreements and discuss prospects for cooperation at the III International Forum of Special Economic Zones, which will be held on September 18-19, 2025 in Nizhny Novgorod. The forum is timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the development of the SEZ in Russia and will become a platform for the exchange of experience, the presentation of new investment opportunities and the attraction of foreign partners. "We see a high potential for cooperation between Russia and Myanmar in the field of SEZ. The inclusion of our initiatives in the agenda of the commission's meeting confirms their strategic importance. This dialogue is important not only at the bilateral level, but also within the framework of the national project "International Cooperation and Export", which is aimed at expanding the global presence of Russian business," Mikhail Labudin emphasized.
