ACTP RF and Iran discussed the development of cooperation between the technology parks of the two countries

The Association of Clusters, Technoparks and Special Economic Zones of Russia (AKIT RF) discussed with the Center for Progress and Development under the President of Iran (CPDI) the development of direct interaction between technoparks and their residents.

The working meeting was attended by Mehdi Daneshdust, Advisor to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Innovation and Technological Cooperation, and Majid Rezaei, Attache of the Embassy. CPDI is involved in implementing Iran’s state policy in the field of high‑tech development, technology transfer, innovation, and international scientific and technical cooperation..

One of the possible next steps mentioned by the parties is to hold a joint seminar for the management companies of technology parks and enterprises in Russia and Iran. It is expected that this will make it possible to exchange practices for developing technological infrastructure, identify promising areas for cooperation, and find opportunities for localizing production and forming industrial clusters..

“Russia and Iran have significant potential for developing technological and industrial cooperation.” Cooperation between companies in the areas of import substitution and the formation of sustainable production chains under conditions of external restrictions may prove to be particularly promising. Following the meeting, we outlined specific steps to develop direct ties between technology parks and residents of the two countries, exchange experience, and identify joint projects. The next stage, after these areas have been worked out, could be the organization of a specialized business mission,” noted Timofey Buneev, Deputy Director for Development at AKIT RF.

The parties paid special attention to tools for finding partners and platforms for investment projects. Representatives of Iran were presented with the BRICS SEZ Investment Navigator, which is designed to help select infrastructure sites and potential partners in the countries of the association.

During the meeting, the Iranian delegation visited the Technopolis Moscow SEZ. Representatives of CPDI were told about the site’s specialization, its infrastructure capabilities, and the areas of activity of resident companies.

Representatives of Iran were also invited to take part in the International Forum of Special Economic Zones, which will be held at the Technopolis Moscow SEZ site.
